Type: Legislation
The UAE’s Ministry of Finance and Federal Tax Authority (FTA) updated VAT Law on 29 October 2024 to mandate B2B and B2G e-invoicing under a decentralized Continuous Transaction Control and Exchange (DCTCE) model, starting in July 2026. This 5-corner model allows vendors and customers to exchange e-invoices directly via Accredited Service Providers (ASPs) within a Peppol framework. ASPs validate invoices and forward them to the FTA without pre-clearance requirements. The phased rollout begins with draft technical requirements in Q4 2024, leading to full implementation by July 2026. B2C e-invoicing will be introduced at a later stage.
Effective date: July 2026
