TPA Global is pleased to support the AI Hackathon for Public Sector: Intelligent Agents for Tax Law Transformation, organized by Microsoft in collaboration with the WU Tax Law Technology Center at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business).

The two-day, in-person hackathon will bring together public sector professionals, tax experts, and technologists to design and build AI-driven solutions for real-world tax challenges using Microsoft technologies.

About the hackathon

The AI Hackathon for Public Sector is a hands-on build event focused on applying intelligent agents to complex tax and public finance workflows. Working in multidisciplinary teams, participants will explore how AI can support tax administrations and public sector bodies in addressing practical challenges such as:

  • Transfer pricing analysis and documentation support
  • VAT compliance and process automation
  • Tax law interpretation and decision support

Over two intensive days, teams will move from problem definition to working prototype, guided by domain experts and supported by modern AI and low-code tooling.


Technologies and approach

Participants will work with Microsoft technologies, including:

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio
  • Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Azure and Azure OpenAI capabilities

The focus is on responsible, human-in-the-loop AI, ensuring solutions are explainable, practical, and aligned with real public sector requirements.

TPA Global is proud to contribute tax and transfer pricing expertise to the hackathon, helping teams ensure their solutions reflect real-world tax practice and regulatory expectations.

During the event, TPA Global will provide:

  • Tax technical assistance, with a strong focus on transfer pricing and international tax considerations
  • TP-focused AI agents and tooling, shared with participating teams to accelerate development
  • Two practical template reports, enabling teams to structure outputs in a way that mirrors real tax documentation and reporting deliverables

Our objective is to help participants translate innovative ideas into usable, credible prototypes that could be applied in real public sector tax environments.
