RO e-Transport Penalty-Free Period Extended

Type: Legislation

On June 28, 2024, the Romanian government approved an emergency ordinance to amend regulations related to e-Transport, e-VAT, and e-Invoice. The Ministry of Finance announced that penalties for offenses committed from this date are postponed for authorized economic operators until January 1, 2025, for international road transport under the e-Transport legislation. The National Union of Road Transporters from Romania (UNTRR) has urged the government to extend deadlines for penalties related to non-compliance with Article 82 of the Emergency Ordinance no. 41. This delay was requested due to the National Center for Financial Information’s failure to provide necessary free IT modules for tracking transport vehicles.

Effective date: January 1st, 2025
